Spicy Air-Fried Garlic Tofu
This spicy air-fried garlic tofu is a quick and easy vegan meal that packs a flavorful punch. It’s made with a simple marinade of garlic, soy sauce, sriracha, and lime juice, which is then air-fried until crispy and golden. The result is a flavorful dish that’s ready in under 30 minutes, and can be served as an appetizer or as part of a larger vegan meal.
Ingredients
- 1 block extra firm tofu (14 ounces)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sriracha
- 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes, or more to taste
Preparation
Begin by draining the tofu and pressing it between two plates lined with paper towels for about 10-15 minutes. This will help remove some of the excess moisture so that your tofu will crisp up nicely when it’s air-fried.
Once the tofu is done pressing, cut it into cubes and place them into a large bowl. In a separate bowl, mix together the garlic, soy sauce, sriracha, lime juice, olive oil, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Pour the marinade over the tofu cubes and gently toss to coat. Allow the tofu to marinate for about 15 minutes.
When the tofu is done marinating, preheat your air fryer to 390°F. Place the tofu cubes in the air fryer basket in a single layer, without overcrowding. Air fry for 10-12 minutes, flipping the cubes halfway through, until they are golden and crispy.
When the tofu is done cooking, remove it from the air fryer and place it on a serving plate. Serve immediately and enjoy!
