These vegan and gluten-free Sneaky Sweet Potato Brownies are a delicious and healthier alternative to traditional brownies. With the addition of sweet potato, these brownies are packed with nutrition and flavor. The sweetness of the sweet potato is perfectly balanced with the cocoa powder, making these brownies a perfect snack or dessert.


  • 1 cup mashed sweet potato (about 2 medium sweet potatoes)
  • 1/2 cup nut butter of choice (peanut, almond, cashew, etc.)
  • 3/4 cup coconut sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup coconut flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup dairy-free chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract


Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease an 8×8 inch baking dish with oil.

In a medium bowl, mix together the mashed sweet potato, nut butter, and coconut sugar until combined.

In a separate bowl, mix together the cocoa powder, coconut flour, baking powder, and salt.

Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.

Pour the batter into the greased baking dish and spread it evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
