Ingredients

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 4 cups diced tomatoes (or one 28-ounce can)
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

Preparation

Begin by heating the olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the garlic and onion and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add the oregano, basil, red pepper flakes (if using), and salt, and cook for an additional minute.

Next, add the diced tomatoes and bring the sauce to a boil. Then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally. Once the sauce has thickened, remove from heat and stir in the fresh parsley. The sauce is now ready to serve.
